Upliftment of communities in the Karoo.

We at ARTS support The WAWWA Foundation that was started by Richard Clark in 2005. A need was recognised for the support of disadvantaged communities in the Karoo and this brought businesses and business leaders together to personally undertake the delivery of gift bags and later food parcels to these areas.

The first trip in 2005 only started with gift bags and took them to Middelpos, Fraserburg and Sutherland. Great changes took place in 2008 since those humble beginnings and during this year food was added to the distribution in Rietbron, where the whole town was fed. Since then a trip was arranged every year to bring joy and smiles to kids and the elderly alike.

In 2010 The WAWWA Foundation was registered as a non-profit organisation, blessing children with gifts to their hearts’ desires at a Christmas party at Merweville Primary School. During 2012 various donations was made to Huis Mervia and the first Sutherland to Merweville (S2M) mountain bike ride took place to raise funds for this purpose.

2013 saw the second S2M event with even a greater number of participants which lead to further support to these communities and schools.
